Footsteps to Freedom
America's Premiere Underground Railroad Study Tour
June 25-30, 2010 (Youth)
July 12-19, 2010 (Adults)
Retrace the steps taken by enslaved Africans as they struggled for freedom and justice in America. Beginning on plantations and slave markets in Kentucky, come with us as we journey through Ohio, Michigan, and New York on our way to the still flourishing free Black communities in Canada.
Come stand in the spaces and walk in the places where freedom seekers put their lives on the line in the hopes of making America live up to its creed, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal."
