Film, Television and Digital Media
Leveraging the intellect, humor, and global vision of our founder, internationally acclaimed storyteller and social change agent Dr. Daniel E. Walker, Perfect Works creates innovative multimedia content for distribution on a wide variety of platforms.
In addition to producing the films Sol Brothers, When Roosters Crow (co-produced with the AIDS Healthcare Foundation), Let's Have Church, and The Ten, Perfect Works has a co-production deal with KCETLink for the Emmy Award-winning series Artbound, and is the principal developer of the reality and non-fiction television programs This is 50, The Herreras, In Small Spaces, Soul in the City, The Good, and Through It All: The Story of Gospel.
Through It All is a 10-part television event taking the audience on a spirited exploration of the past, present, and future of Gospel Music. From it's role as the sung faith and social justice story of the Black experience, to its ability to impact international audiences and produce some of the world's most iconic performers in Pop, Rock, and Soul, Gospel is central to the story of America.
Perfect Works is also proud of its long relationship as the producer of the works of internationally acclaimed playwright Rickerby Hinds, the "Godfather" of Hip Hop Theatre. The Chair of the Department of Theatre, Film, and Digital Production at the University of California, Riverside, his seminal works include Daze to Come (the first full-length play to use Hip Hop as the primary language of the stage), Keep Headz Ringin' (an adaptation of Richard Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen), Blackballin' (Royal Court Theatre in London) Birthmark (optioned to Showtime Networks) and Buck World One (Oregon Shakespeare Festival).
